What sad spectacles are these bickerings of Republican contenders. Jon Huntsman, who is probably the sanest and soundest of the bunch, is at the bottom of the poll rankings. It’s emblematic of the quality of his opponents that they affect to regard his experience as ambassador to China as a deficit rather than an impressive credential in seeking high office. Their rationale for this bizarre position is that Huntsman was appointed by President Obama.
