Captain's Log

15:00 E.D.T.  March 30, 2010

You are invited to join the crew of the Allegra, the fastest spacecraft ever built. Our mission is to find intelligent life in the universe. After launch, we’ll accelerate to one hundred miles per second. That’s about six hundred and fifty times faster than a jet airliner and about ten times faster than NASA’s New Horizon space probe, now on its way to Pluto. Once we’re outside the solar system, maybe sooner, we’ll try to activate hyper drive and go faster.

Boarding time: March 31, 2010 at Noon E.D.T.

Launch time:  April 1, 2010 at Noon E.D.T.
